Change in electricity output in Europe during COVID-19 lockdown by fuel type 2020

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown across Europe, saw a noticeable change in the amount of electricity generated throughout Europe. Between March 26 and April 29, 2020, the output from all fuels dropped by approximately 14 percent when compared to the same period in the previous year. The biggest changes for demand were from coal-fired electricity, with the output from lignite and hard coal dropping by 43 and 42 percent respectively.
