In 2022, the United States remained the largest oil consuming country in the world. Despite a decline in oil demand between 2010 and 2022, the U.S. was still a greater consumer than China. The BRIC countries, which comprise Brazil, Russia, India and China, accounted for nearly 27 percent of total global oil demand in 2022.
