The beauty conglomerate divides its company into four segments: Revlon, Elizabeth Arden, Fragrances, and Portfolio, with the first one generating the highest number of sales. The global net sales of the company have fluctuated in the last ten years, peaking at 2.7 billion U.S. dollars as of 2017 and decreasing to approximately two billion U.S. dollars in 2022. Consequently, Revlon’s gross profit has also been inconsistent in this time frame, amounting to about 1.14 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. Over the past few years, the advertising spending of Revlon Inc. has also experienced a decrease, going from 550 million U.S. dollars in 2017 to nearly 331 million U.S. dollars in 2022.The decreasing sales and supply chain issues brought by the Covid-19 pandemic were among the reasons that led Revlon to file for bankruptcy in June 2022. However, as of December of the same year, the company was acquired by its very own lenders and given the chance to come out of bankruptcy, this time as a private company and with a new organization.
